Background

Ubaka Emelumadu is currently an Oil and Gas Consultant since June, 2016. Before then, he was a General Manager and Vice President Gas, Shell Sub-Sahara Africa/Shell Nigeria at different times between 2008 and 2015, responsible for upstream and midstream gas commercial activities as well as for the downstream company Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG). During his over 35-year working career in Shell, he also held various positions in Petroleum Engineering, Transformation Manager, Planning, Economics and Strategy Manager for Sub-Sahara Africa and Community Affairs Director.

Experience

A competent and seasoned professional with over 38 years experience in the oil industry with varied corporate leadership experience - 8 years as an executive director of the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Ltd (SPDC), past chairman of the Board of Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG), Board member of World Bank Rivers State Community Foundation and past Oil Producers Trade Section (OPTS) Executive Director and representative on the Board of Nigeria Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (NEITI). He is currently and a non-executive director of Neconde Energy Limited. Ubaka is a graduate of Geology and an alumnus of Wharton Business School.

Background

Sumer Jabri is a pragmatic technology leader with a focus on solid foundations. Sumer has a proven track record of building large-scale, mission-critical systems along with the engineering teams behind them. In 2005, he co-founded Rivet Logic, a top 5% services organization focusing on open source software. Following that success, he co-founded Crafter Software where he's focusing on a fresh approach to enterprise content management.

Experience

Prior to starting these ventures, Sumer focused on building elegant and scalable solutions in various fields including Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence, Hybrid Satellite/Terrestrial Data Communication Networks, Real-time Embedded Systems and Commercial Software.

Sumer has a number of publications in the field of Computer Vision and Image Understanding.

Sumer received his B. Sc. from the American University in Cairo and M. SC. in Computer Science from George Mason University in 1999.

Background

Engr. Chris Okoye is an accomplished professional and civil engineer of phenomenal proportions; an intellectual; a member of many professional bodies; a public policy expert and entrepreneur in building institutions; a philanthropist; a mentor to many professionals;

He was awarded a Bachelor of science honours degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering in 1976 at UW, Madison and an M.Sc in Civil Engineering, specializing in Geotechnical engineering at the University of Houston.

Engr. Okoye started his career as a Research/ Teaching assistant at the University of Houston and has attended a number of special courses in various spheres of human endeavour.

Experience

He started his professional career as a consultant Engineer with the international firm of Harding- Lawson Associates and worked on a number of important projects, inclusive of the Bonny/LNG gas project in Minima and numerous highway projects. Also played active roles in the power sector from 1991 to 1994.

The desire to acquire extensive field experience lured Engr. Okoye into the domain of construction in which he played an active part for more than 25years.

Currently active in Civil Engineering planning/design/supervision Consultancy.

Engr. Okoye is a Fellow of many professional Associations such as American Society of civil Engineers, Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigerian Society of Materials Engineering, Nigerian Institute of Technicians, Nigeria Institute of Corporate Administrators and institute of Directors.

He is also a member of America Society of Professional Estimators, International Society of Soil and Foundation Engineers, Institute of Management, etc.

Engr. Okoye has served the Nigerian Society of Engineers at the branch and central levels in many capacities: Full Council member of Nigerian Society of Engineers, past chairman of the Road Institutional Framework Committee in which he successfully led the Reform of the Highway sector management and delivery systems in Nigeria for 4years. Chairman, Nigeria Content Committee, NSE. Past Chairman, Board of Fellows/College of Fellows. Engr. Okoye has had publications in many journals and other technical fora.

Engr. Okoye has also had outstanding accomplishments in public service: Past Chairman, Bulning Mining Company Nig Ltd – a joint venture company between Nigeria and the Government of Bulgaria for production of Coal at Okaba and Owukpa.

He was an Anambra State delegate to 2005 Constitutional Reform Conference. Past Chairman, Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Management, Past Council member, Trinity college Umuahia, Past Council Member, Paul University, Awka, Past Chairman, Board, center for Entrepreneurial Development Research UNN, (CEDR), Chairman, South East Nigeria Economic Commission, Steering Committee, Past Member, Board of Trustees and current member Anambra State Elders Council, Chairman, Federal Government Technical Committees: the Nigerian Railway Reform/Bill, National Road Fund Bill, Federal Road Reform/Bill and National Transport Commission Bill and a Past member of Federal Government Committee on Re-introduction of Tolling on Federal Roads, he was a member of the old Anambra State Sports Council for many years and also served as a chairman of various Associations on local and national levels, was also the chairman of premier Hard courts – An ATP international Tennis Tournament in Enugu.

Engr. Okoye has also distinguished himself in many private sector institutions too numerous to mention. He is a recipient of so many awards; He continues to serve the Church, his community and various NGOs in many capacities. He was a Past President General of his Community – Enugwu-ukwu and Past Chairman of Ohanaeze Planning/Strategic Committee.

He is married to Prof. Ifeoma Okoye, of the department of Radiation Medicine UNTH, Enugu, and they are blessed with four children.
